A section of Freshman Seminar US 1150 will be offered in second summer session 2007 for athletes only.
Sponsored by the Department of Athletics, Academic Services for Athletes, and the Freshman Seminar Program, this Freshman Seminar class is designed to help new student athletes make a successful transition to college life.
Students taking this course earn three hours of graded elective gcredit that also meets special designator requirements in writing, computing and cross-disciplinary experiences. This Freshman Seminar class will provide opportunities for you to get to know fellow athletes as well as guest speakers who have met the challenges of playing a sport in college. The course will help you strengthen your study skills, particularly in terms of time management, learn about resources and opportunities available to you throughout your college career, and understand what to expect from college-level classes. Use this chance to make sure you achieve both on the field and in the classroom during your time at Appalachian.
